Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly with cooking spray.
Step 2: Make the Batter
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing, as it can lead to dense muffins.
Step 3: Prepare the Crumb Topping
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and softened butter using a fork. The mixture should resemble coarse crumbs.
Step 4: Assemble the Muffins
- Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping generously over each muffin.
Step 5: Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
