Even as the Dr. Denzil Douglas led administration was being sworn in at Warner Park in St.Kitts, patrons at the Pre Valentine and Tourism week Horse race meet were watching in frustration as ‘De She Devil’, determined to live up to its name took no fewer than twenty minutes before allowing the final race of the day to get on its way. After an initial false start, the horse seemed bent on going in reverse gear despite all of the urgings and encouragement received from its handlers. However when the race finally got on its way, the fair sized crowd at the Indian Castle race track in Nevis was thrilled every second of the way, with De She Devil storming past the finish line in fourth spot, after a belated start. In this race Dominquero and Fire Storm had a photo finish for second spot as well, while the Presidential Obama took first spot.

The crowd was also entertained by the popular ODISI band and with smoke coming from the many vendors’ stalls; dust coming from the track and with food and drink flowing with unlimited fervor, the many locals and visitors alike all had an incredible day –all told.

The overall results saw:

Race 1 Five Furlongs

The next big meet will be the Valentine’s Extravaganza to be held at the Beaumont Park racing facility this coming Sunday -14th February 2010.
