
Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas
By 7:00 AM today, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), lead by Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas appeared set to begin its 4th consecutive term at the helm of the Federal Parliament of St. Kitts and Nevis. Elections results gave the Labour Party six of the eight contested seats on St. Kitts; one seat being won by the opposition People’s Action Movement (PAM) in constituency number 5, with ballots for constituency number 8 still being counted. In Nevis, Concerned Citizens’ Party (CCM) Hon. Vance Amory and Hon. Patrice Nibett of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) won their elections bid.
The elected Parliamentarians will be the Hon. Dr. Asim Warner (SKNLP, Constituency #1), Hon. Marcella Liburd Esq. (SKNLP, Constituency #2), Hon. Sam Condor (SKNLP, Constituency #3) Hon. Glen Fitzroy Phillip (SKNLP, Constituency #4), Hon. Shawn K. Richards (PAM, Constituency 5), Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas (SKNLP, Constituency 6), Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, SKNLP, Constituency 7), Hon. Vance Amory (CCM, Constituency #10), Hon. Patrice Nisbett Esq. (NRP, Constituency #11), with Constituency #8 and #9 still undecided.
General Elections were held yesterday, January 25th, in the Federation which is fast growing as a tourist destination. In 2009, the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis received approaching a half a million cruise ships visitors.

The people of st Kitts demonstrated to the rest of the region when you have a good thing going there is no need to change it even if the party is there for a long time. The people of Grenada must be kicking them selves for their mistake. If only we had listened, life would have been better in the spice isle now.
