Hey Bruce, I came across this as I am trying to dumb down the authorship question to 1000 words for a university essay, but am still digging deeper and deeper...and not knowing if I find the whole slugfest an interesting pastime or just an utter waste of energy (Bill Bryson states that there are now probably more than 5000 books dedicated to the issue).
I am thankful that while you clearly state where your sympathies lie, you try to present the two perspectives objectively.

When revising this text one time, however, you might want to remove the Umlaut from the o in "Doppelgänger", as it looks ridiculous to German readers that way.

Best,
Christoph

P.S.: I noticed that a overproportionally number of the Anti-Stratfordians seem to be Americans. Maybe that has something to do with the better acceptance of conspiracy theories over there?

Hi,
love the review and appreciate the non-attitude whether to be or not to be. Oxfordian or Stratfordian that is. Just been looking for Sh waterways today. You cleared that up neatly.

I think I'll give his book another go. It lies neglected on my shelf except to raid his sources and index for bits he missed. John Dee and his massive library and influence isn't mentioned for example.

At last a well-balanced review, thanks.

yours,
Will

Hi Charlotte,

Thanks for reading my review! I will correct it as you suggest.

What is your view on this controversy? I hope you find it as fascinating as I do. Personally, I'd love it if if Anderson turned out to be right.
